Diego, CA is hiring a Manager, Supply Chain. This position reports
directly to the Director of Operations, Site Lead and is
responsible for all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) activities
and functions of the associates within the Clinical Supply Chain
Management team. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the
deployment of common systems, improved processes and advanced
technology to drive continuous improvement. This individual is also
responsible for ensuring activities of all assigned personnel
result in the successful, timely and cost-effective processing of
orders to ensure customer and stakeholder satisfaction.This is a
full-time salaried position: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

- Schedule Clinical Supply, Pre-Distribution, Distribution,
Receiving, & Destruction personnel to ensure proper staffing in a
productive, cost effective and timely manner. Manages the daily
shipment of products out of the facility (site shipments and bulk
shipments) to clinics, depots, client facilities and other Catalent
sites
- Manages the daily operations including direction of daily
activities as necessary and actively assists with resolution of
problems/issues with Quality Assurance (QA) and internal and
external clients, investigations, deviations, and client
complaints
- Maintain a safe working environment and proactively identify
safety concerns that may affect individual or other colleagues.
Responsible for the identification, investigation, and improvement
of Safety Concerns and Events (as assigned) for Supply Chain
- Hold employees accountable for safety, quality, throughput, and
cost performance - coordinate recognition, training, discipline,
termination and hiring process
- Lead in the planning/implementation of procedural changes
related to Clinical Storage and Distribution. Maintain compliance
with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to
procurement and follow internal GMP and Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs)--
- Maintain and control all Clinical Supply inventories throughout
the facility. Submit required data and reports for performance
metrics. Ensure a high level of inventory accuracy through an
approved cycle counting program
- Provide material support for Production, Quality and
Engineering activities. Work with cross-functional teams to develop
enhancements and implement an appropriate process for capacity
planning. Establishes annual goals and objectives in coordination
with site and corporate objectives, and manages performance to
ensure attainment
- Other duties as assignedThe Candidate:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree minimum in Science, Business
Management, Supply Chain/Logistics (or related field)
- Requires a minimum of seven years of experience in supply chain
for a regulated industry--
- Strong preference for candidates with supervisory experience in
a high-volume manufacturing environment, including inventory and
receiving functions
- Must have experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
software; JD Edwards preferred
- Must have knowledge of the transportation industry and parcel
experience and possess knowledge of cGMP regulations and
practices
- Physical requirements: Individual may be required to sit,
stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds; must
also use a forklift/pallet jack periodically and spend time
periodically in controlled room temperatures ranging from -4--F -
77--F; minimal travel on a rare basis; ability to communicate
orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Regular use of
telephone and email. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal
ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary
information and to prepare or inspect documents. Good manual
dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer
terminals, calculator, copiers, and fax machines. Good reasoning
ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management
reports, memos, and other documents to conduct businessPay:
- The anticipated salary range for this role in San Diego, CA is
$100,000 - $120,000 annually. The final salary offered to a
successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several
factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and
length of experience within the job, type and length of experience
within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc.
