Job Description:
Job Description Bae Systems is currently seeking Carpenters who
can repair and fabricate Wooden Crates, able to work from detailed
Blueprints and follow instructions. Operate Electrical tools like
Saws, Routers and Drills.
- Nomex Panels Plates
- Perform the counter sinking process as it relates to synthetic
deck plates
- Removals and Interference
- Batterboards
- Unbolt boards
- Draw Sketches
- Label with material identification tags
- Trained on using Power Tools such as grinders/Hand Saws
- Fixed equipment (must be trained on and operate the following
equipment)
- Table saw
- Planer
- Drill presses (Material: Wood or Metal Frames)
- Fiber glass on the shafts
- Install basic polysulfide coating on the end of the shaft
- Install the resin
- Wrap the shaft and make adjustments as needed
- Wood Decking
- Cut the wood
- Shoot studs
- Measure planks
- Secure with metal fasteners
- Caulk
- Drydock Block Building
- Read advanced blueprints for measurements
- Cut and assemble blocks
- Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Handrails
- Read advanced blueprints for measurements
- Layout, fabricate and install handrailsRequired Education,
Experience, & Skills High school or equivalent education must have
a 3-year experience in the trade/Ship Repair Industry. Must be able
to follow instructions and comply with companies Safety rules and
Osha Standards. Practical Theory Requirements A first class
mechanic must demonstrate an advanced understanding of working with
equipment, working with Nomex panel, installation of various
materials and drydock block and crate building. Other Requirements
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend simple
instructions
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions in written, oral or diagram form
- Must be able to calculate and understand units of measure,
including fractions and decimals
- Must know how to measure using a scale and tape measure
- Must be able to wear applicable PPE (Hard hat, safety goggles,
gloves, steel toes shoes, ear protection, chaps if working with
chainsaw, Tyvek suits and respirators when working with certain
chemicals)

Salary Range: $57720 - $88483Please note: This range is based on
our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are
determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
business considerations, local market conditions, and internal
equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills,
