Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineer - Comms
Responsible Engineer OR Principal Electronics Engineer - Comms
Responsible Engineer to our team in Rancho Bernando, CA. This
position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization. Duties
and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Research, design, development, integration, and test of a
variety of electronic equipment and systems, including RF
datalinks, SATCOM and Communications Networks.
- Maintaining complex RF communications architectures, systems;
circuitry components; analog and digital computers.
- Primary Responsible Engineer for complex communications
subsystem, supplier technical interface, and focal IPT
representative for integration support.The selected candidate
should be a self-starter and thrive working in a fast-paced work
environment with high expectations, engaged in assignments across
multiple engineering disciplines, within a collaborative/team
setting on all levels of the organization. Qualified candidates
should be prepared to research, design, develop, integrate, and
test a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radio
and other communications equipment and network systems; circuitry
components; analog and digital computers; and control and test
equipment. Once in role, this position could offer a hybrid work
environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's
discretion. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25%
of the time. This position can be filled at either the Electronics
Engineer - Comms Responsible Engineer level or the Principal
Electronics Engineer - Comms Responsible Engineer level, depending
upon the qualifications below. Basic Qualifications for Electronics
Engineer - Comms Responsible Engineer:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering
experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years
of related engineering experience.
- Active in-scope, DoD Secret clearance with the ability to
obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance once in
position.
- At some point, the selected candidate may be required to obtain
and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be
obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the
company to meet its business needs.Basic Qualifications for
Principal Electronics Engineer - Comms Responsible Engineer:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering
experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years
of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM
discipline.
- Active in-scope, DoD Secret clearance with the ability to
obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance once in
position.
- At some point, the selected candidate may be required to obtain
and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be
obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the
company to meet its business needs.Preferred Qualifications for
both levels:
- Active in-scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Strong understanding of networking strategies including TCP/IP
& WAN architectures.
- Familiar with encryption methods and cross-domain
integrations
- RF and digital system design & analysis
- Antenna theory and operation
- COMMS Wideband and Narrowband integration and testing.Iridium,
INMARSAT, Ku, CDL waveforms and Starlink a plus.
- Airborne platform radio integration such ARCs.

- Design documentation:E.g. Visio, Catia, interconnects and rack
elevationsSalary Range: $87,200 - $130,800Salary Range 2: $107,300
- $160,900The above salary range represents a general guideline;
however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when
determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice
President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
